Insurance- Evaluated Wildfire Smoke Damage in Series of Residences
When claims of smoke damage and contamination began to pour in to insurance companies in the months following California wildfires it became clear that they needed a better way to assess the validity of the mass of claims. So the insurance companies turned to the industrial hygiene community and specifically FACS to develop a standard assessment and sampling protocols for assessing these claims. FACS has since evaluated hundreds of buildings (residential and commercial) around the state in support of our clients needs for method driven, scientifically based evaluations of damage and consequential environmental health claims. FACS provides peace of mind to the insured that they are not at risk of unhealthful environment and to the insurer that they are appropriately addressing the damage.
